Whakapakari te Kāinga project Update

The Whakapakari te Kāinga building project at Urenui Pā is progressing steadily, however due to necessary design changes to Te Aroha there will be a delay to the anticipated opening date.

As a result, Urenui Pā will not be opened before the Matariki as originally hoped. The Whakapakari te Kāinga building project at Urenui Pā is progressing steadily, with significant advancements being made across the site, particularly in Te Aroha and associated landscaping up towards the urupā.

The Whakapakari committee acknowledges the importance of this project to whānau and iwi.  Whānau will be kept informed as work continues, and a new re-opening date will be shared once it has been confirmed by the committee. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these design changes.
