Dion’s Pōwhiri

Ngāti Mutunga uri were honoured to stand alongside whānau and fellow Taranaki iwi at the pōwhiri held in Te Whanganui-a-Tara to formally welcome Dion Tuuta into his new role as Tumu Whakarae (Chief Executive) of Te Puni Kōkiri.

The pōwhiri marked the beginning of an important new chapter for Te Puni Kōkiri, as Dion steps into this significant leadership role with a wealth of strategic experience and a deep commitment to advancing Māori aspirations. It was a proud occasion for Ngāti Mutunga to be present in support, acknowledging both the importance of the role and the opportunity it presents to strengthen outcomes for whānau, hapū and iwi across Aotearoa.

The strong presence of whānau reflected the enduring values of manaakitanga and kotahitanga, demonstrating the collective support behind Dion as he embarks on this journey. We extend our warmest congratulations and wish him every success as he leads Te Puni Kōkiri into its next chapter.
