Urenui Papakāinga Development Update

The Urenui Papakāinga Housing Project is progressing really well. The three homes at Ngapapa St are likely to be completed by the end of this year and the two homes at Whakapaki St are likely to be completed early next year.

Ngapapa St is tracking along nicely with all houses now fully enclosed. Roofing, fascia, soffits, and joinery have been successfully installed. Cladding works are now underway, and the installation of internal services has also commenced.

Whereas, at Whakapaki St, Location Homes has completed the excavation of unsuitable soil and replaced it with compacted engineered fill.  Foundation boxing is currently under construction in preparation for the concrete foundation pour, which will proceed once ground preparation and relevant inspections have been completed. All retaining walls on-site have now been completed.

We held a celebration Friday 25 July at the Ngapapa St site to acknowledge progress and engage with the wider team. We also held a workshop for whānau on 2 August to discuss aspirations.
