Turanga Wātea

Tēnā koutou e te whānau

Our Pou Whiringa, George Rapana, has made the decision to transition to a new opportunity. He has been instrumental in organising and supporting all of the kaupapa that have been delivered through Ngāti Mutunga in the last year and we have seen significant growth in his skills and experience in this role. While we are sad to see George leave his current role with Ngāti Mutunga, we are pleased that he has an exciting opportunity to move to that will see his skills being applied in the taiao. We will farewell George at the end of this month.

We now have a vacancy for the Pou Whiringa (Whānau Engagement Coordinator) role. The Pou Whiringa is an integral role to support Te Whiringa, the Charitable Trust for the Iwi. Strengthening the connections with our whānau through the delivery of events, programmes and online wā nanga will help to achieve our combined aspirations as an Iwi. If you enjoy versatility in a role, are organised, can multitask with attention to detail and can build and maintain relationships with whānau then this is an ideal role for you.

This role reports to the Pou Whiringa Matua (Whānau Engagement Manager) who ensures that the strategic objectives of the Charitable Trust are carried out effectively. The role is responsible for the administration, event organisation, communication coordination and funding applications.

This is a key role within a small team that requires a special person with a commitment to supporting iwi, marae and whānau social and cultural development.

If you have the right set of skills and experiences for this role, we would encourage you to take the first step in the application process by requesting a Job Description and Employment Form by contacting the Pouwhakahaere (CEO) for Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Mutunga by phone on 06 752 3247 or by email on mitchell@ngatimutunga.iwi.nz.

Only fully completed applications will be accepted. A completed application includes a Cover Letter, CV, and a completed Employment Form.

Applications for this role close on Friday 5 April 2024.
