Te Pumaomao

The Te Puamomao Nationhood Building Decolonisation training at Muru Raupatu Marae was a resounding success. Focused on the Treaty of Waitangi, the Declaration of Independence (He Whakaputanga), and Cultural Intelligence, the training provided participants with a deeper understanding of these critical historical documents and their modern relevance.

Through active participation and sharing of personal insights, the training fostered a collaborative learning environment. The Marae setting added cultural depth to the experience, enhancing the understanding of nationhood and decolonisation from historical, legal, and cultural perspectives. Participants also improved their Cultural Intelligence, gaining tools for navigating diverse cultural contexts in both personal and professional settings.

The training not only educated but inspired action, encouraging participants to develop plans and goals to continue discussions on decolonisation and nationhood, strengthening connections and fostering a shared sense of purpose.
