Sip n Weave

Sip n Weave

The Sip and Weave workshops were held at Te Awa o te Ora in Waitara in a collaborative effort with Tuitui Designs and Ngāti Mutunga. The workshop was an opportunity to engage our whānau in a fun environment while learning weaving techniques and fostering new connections and relationships within our iwi. Feedback from particiants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing the opportunity to learn a new skill in a supportive and inclusive environment and be able to take their taonga home once completed. Each participant shared their own whakaaro of their mahi, blessing it with a name and why that resonated with their taonga. Overall the workshop was a resounding success, bringing together the whānau in a celebration of culture, creativity, and connection. A huge shoutout to Moana Williams for bringing your amazing workshop to us and sharing the kōrero of your vision inspiring our whānau.
