Working closely with NPDC, the public safety fence at Motukari Place Reserve, Onaero has been replaced, as part of a managed retreat of the reserve cliff that is gradually falling into the sea. The previous safety fence had been impacted by the coastal process and had to be set back further. Ngāti Mutunga wāhi tapu considerations were discussed and cultural monitors observed the earthworks required for the installation.
