Freshwater

mauri compass

We have been having good discussions with Taranaki Regional Council about regular water testing in our rohe.  Up until now, no state of the environment water testing for freshwater quality in Taranaki has been undertaken on our awa or tributaries.  We are currently working together to select appropriate sites for regular monitoring by Taranaki Regional Council to help us get a good picture on the state of our awa from a scientific perspective.  We will input all this new information into our Mauri Compass Tangaroa section.  We have installed a trial continuous monitoring device on Urenui for the summer break so we are looking forward to getting the information back from that in mid-January 2025.
