Our rangatahi had the incredible opportunity to attend the Aspiring Leaders Forum in Wellington, where they experienced four action-packed days of learning, connection, and personal growth.
With an inspiring lineup of guest speakers and a diverse programme, our whanaunga were challenged to think deeply about real-life issues, leadership, and the role they can play in shaping the future. A highlight of the forum was spending time at Parliament, where enriching kōrero and diverse perspectives encouraged everyone to reflect on their own beliefs, values, and aspirations.
Throughout the week, our rangatahi met people from all walks of life, creating space for open-minded conversations, shared learning, and meaningful connections. These experiences not only broadened their perspectives but also led to the formation of lifelong friendships.
A special highlight was hearing from one of our own, Te Waka McLeod, who shared her journey from co-founding the Aspiring Leaders Forum 20 years ago to becoming a leader in her own right. Her story was a powerful reminder that leadership starts with being authentic, embracing opportunities, and staying connected to your values and community.
We’re incredibly proud of our rangatahi for representing our people with mana, embracing every opportunity, and returning home inspired to continue growing as the leaders of tomorrow.
