Inside our various whare, steady progress continues as we move toward key completion milestones. Interior paneling is now complete in Te Aroha, with exterior paneling scheduled to finish soon. Electrical, fire, and upholstery works are also on track for pre-holiday completion, while painting will follow once cedar arrives. The Wānanga Room remains on schedule, and for Mahau, staining and cedar installation also remain on track.
Externally, efforts are focused on decking and roof structures for Titohea, with a strong push to have roof cladding installed promptly, subject to steel and subcontractor availability. Waharoa timelines will be confirmed early in the new year, as resources remain committed to Stages 7 and 9. Despite minor delays and the complexity of coordinating multiple trades, the commitment of our team and whānau remains unwavering.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to create spaces that reflect the aspirations of our Pā. In keeping with tikanga, we won’t share interior images until after the formal opening, acknowledging the significance of these spaces for our whānau.
The Urenui Pā Trustees would like to remind whānau that the Pā is still a construction site and is a restricted area and out of bounds for all except construction workers and their invitees. These areas are Te Aroha, Mahi Tamariki, Wānanga Room, Titohea including all earthworks from Te Aroha down to the end of the driveway.
