Mauri Compass 2025

We have completed all our aquatic surveys for 2025 with good results all round.  Water quality and diversity in all our awa measured well this year and we also conducted some EDNA testing at most sites.  Plenty of Tuna were caught in our three larger catchments with by-catches of kōura, inanga, bully and plenty of shrimp.  If any of our whānau knows what our tupuna used to call bully, we would love to hear about it so we can adjust our records.  If you would like a more detailed report of our findings please contact us at the office by email to office@ngatimutunga.iwi.nz.

It has now been 5 years since our initial full, comprehensive assessment and report on Mimitangiatua and Urenui awa so we are now looking to revisit this and complete an updated report for next season.
